UG

Admissions :

The Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University offers various UG degree programmes in the faculties of Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering and Home Science at its constituent colleges in Telangana State, the main campus being Rajendranagar, Hyderabad. The medium of instruction for all the U.G. programmes is ENGLISH. The duration of the all the UG programme 4 years.

The student shall satisfy minimum residential requirements and maximum duration as below.

  • The minimum residential requirement is eight semesters for U.G. Degree Programmes in the University.
  • The maximum duration of degree programmes is fourteen semesters (7 academic years).

Age:

The candidates for admission to these courses shall be required to have completed 17 years of age on 31st December of the year of admission with an upper age limit of 22 years for all the candidates and 25 years in respect of SC and ST candidates and 27 years for Physically Challenged candidates.

The eligible candidates shall be required to attend personal counseling as per the notification in the News papers and be admitted to different U.G Programmes depending on their individual merit as determined by the rank obtained in EAMCET of Telangana State following the rule of reservation as per orders of the Government of Telangana State for time to time.

Criteria for selection:

  • The students are admitted into all U.G courses except B.Sc. (Hons.) Home Science based on their performance in the state level Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) conducted by Telangana State Council of Higher Education, Government of Telangana State. The University shall invite applications from eligible candidates through notification in some of the leading news papers generally in the months of June/July.
  • In case of a tie in ranks obtained by two or more candidates in the EAMCET, the marks secured in the optional subjects of the qualifying examination shall be taken into consideration. In case of a further tie, the age of the candidate shall be taken into consideration.

Reservation of seats for the candidates coming from families of Agriculturist cum Rural Area (Farmerís Quota):

  • Forty per cent (40%) of the seats are reserved for candidates belonging to families of Agriculturists (Farmers) owning not less than 3 acres of land either in the name of the parents or in the name of the candidates and who have studied for a minimum of 4 years in schools located in Non-Municipal areas. If the land is owned by any other relative i.e., grandfather, grandmother or guardian, it is not acceptable.
  • FORM-I: It is a proforma indicating the patta numbers and extent of land owned by the candidate / parents duly certified by the Tahsildar with his office seal (or) the candidate has to enclose attested xerox copies of pattadar pass book as an evidence of the extent of land(Agriculturist Certificate).
  • Form-II: It is a proforma to be certified by the Head Master/Principal of the School/College with his office seal that the candidate has studied for a minimum period of four years in schools located in Non-Municipal areas during the period of study from 1st class to 12th class / Intermediate (Non-Municipal Area Certificate).
  • Form-I and Form-II need to be filled in with the signatures of concerned officials viz., Tahsildar and concerned Head of Institution, respectively, along with office seal. Otherwise, the claim of the candidates under this category will be summarily rejected.

Reservation of seats for Women : In each course, 33 1/3% of the seats shall be reserved in favour of women candidates from each category as per G.O.Ms. No. 75/Edn., dated 13-3-1996 of Govt. of A.P.

Note: College of Food Science and Technology Bapatla and Pulivendula are in the Andhra Pradesh State. But 36%(due share of Telangana) of total intake of 90 seats in Food Science and Technology of ANGRAU colleges shall be filled up by PJTSAU based on the Telangana EAMCET. Hence 16 Seats in Bi.P.C. stream and 16 seats in MPC Stream shall be filled up through counseling . 60% of M.P.C. stream seats shall be filled by TSCHE based on T-EAMCET while 40% of MPC Stream seats under Farmers Quota shall be filled by PJTSAU.

2. Fee once paid to the University shall not be refunded. In addition, the candidate has to pay a cancellation fee if the candidate leaves the institution.

Foreign candidates nominated by the GoI /ICAR who secure an aggregate of 50% marks in Optional subjects and should have passed the qualifying examination in one attempt are eligible to seek admission in the faculty of Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering and Technology and Home Science. Candidates nominated by GoI / ICAR must have passed Physics/Chemistry/Biology or Mathematics and English up to 12th standard with an aggregate of 50% marks are eligible.

There shall be a marginal increase (10%) in the fee structure every year as per the Government orders and as approved by the Academic council of the University from time to time. Hostel facilities are available for both boys and girls in all the campuses and the same will be provided subject to the availability.
